Our Mission
At Furballs of Atlanta, we believe in a world where cats thrive, not just survive. We are a foster-based cat rescue dedicated to saving cats in need, rehabilitating them with love, and finding them safe, loving furever homes.
But our work doesn’t stop there—we’re also committed to ending the cycle of suffering in homeless cats through education, advocacy, and community-driven solutions like Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR).
What We Do
Rescue & Rehome – We take in cats from various situations (surrenders, abandoned/neglected cats, shelter pull lists) and place them in loving foster homes until adoption.
Reduce Overpopulation – We focus on spay/neuter initiatives and will soon launch our TNVR program to humanely manage community cat colonies.
Build a Compassionate Community – We believe in unity, collaboration, and collective action—because saving lives takes all of us.
Our Values
Compassion – Every cat deserves kindness, dignity, and a chance at a good life.
Unity – We work together—with fosters, volunteers, and other rescues—to make the biggest impact.
Inclusion – Every cat deserves love and so does every person who helps them.
We proudly welcome and celebrate people of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religions, abilities, and backgrounds in our mission to save cats.
What is “Foster Based”?
Unlike most shelter facilities, our cats live in real homes with foster parents who provide:
✅ Personalized care (no stressful kennel life)
✅ Socialization & love (preparing them for family life)
✅ A true understanding of their personality (so we can make the perfect match with adopters).
-
We assist all counties in Georgia, but our main focus is Fulton, Clayton, Fayette, Dekalb, and Cobb counties.
-
What started as a random late night rescue of a neonatal cat name Willow turned into a burning passion to help more cats in need.
Our founder simply calls her development of FBOA “God’s Calling”
-
Yes! We partner with Pet Supermarket to showcase cats in their stores and hold weekend adoption events.
We’re always looking to build new partnerships. If you’re interested in partnering with us, reach out to laurendi@furballsofatlanta.org
